Operations of IndiGo Airlines were affected across the country on Saturday due to a massive technical glitch in their systems. The glitch led to slower check-ins and massive queues at airports. The airline said that they were working to resolve the issue at the earliest.
“We are currently experiencing a temporary system slowdown across our network, affecting our website and booking system. As a result, customers may face increased wait times, including slower check-ins and longer queues at the airport,” the airline said in a statement.
IndiGo’s ticket booking server has been affected since noon. The operations briefly resumed at 1.05 pm. However, the system continued to face disruptions.
The airline said their team was working to address the situation and assist everyone and ensure a smooth journey. “Be assured, we are working diligently to restore stability and normalcy as quickly as possible,” IndiGo added.
Visuals purportedly from the airports shared online showed serpentine queues at the check-in areas. Several people also complained that they were unable to book tickets or use other services.
One of the users on X said, “@IndiGo6E your services are down. I’m not able to book any Indigo flight on any platform, including your own!”.
A flyer, Rohit Gandhi, tweeted, “Indigo airlines computer systems have crashed and they have a massive backup at airports. I am in Kolkata taking off. Is anyplace else is India having a similar issue”.
However, the company has not announced a tentative timeline to resolve the issue and resume operations.
A server glitch at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport has thrown IndiGo Airlines operations into disarray, causing widespread delays. Passengers at Terminal 1 are stuck in long lines, struggling with check-ins and departures. Some flights have been pushed back, and take-offs delayed, leaving many travelers stranded since the issue started around 11 am.
IndiGo staff is working to fix the problem.
IndiGo Airlines stated today a temporary system slowdown affecting its website and booking system, leading to longer wait times for passengers. The slowdown is causing delays at check-in counters and extended queues at airports. “We understand the frustration this may cause,” a company representative said, adding that all airport staff are fully mobilised to assist passengers during the disruption.
The airline reassured customers that it is working swiftly to resolve the issue. “Restoring normalcy is our top priority,” the statement read, expressing regret for the inconvenience and appreciation for passengers’ patience during the outage.
